下面是他的话(我用中文加了一些解释):architecture is vastly different between the coasts (美国东岸、西岸) actually... it has to do with different climates mostly, but also much different ideologies about design. designers out here seem to think they are much better than east coasters (东岸建筑师) actually. maybe they feel inferior and they are trying to mask it somewhatthe architecture i have seen is quite nice, mainly because you can do everything outside. I went to Ikea (宜家家具公司) the other day, and the entrance to the store is an outdoor escalator that takes you to the second floor showroom. one couldn’t do that on the east coast.. everything is open, low and horizontal, big! but everything is also soooo far away. you can’t get anywhere in 15 minutes... everything is 30 min away. as well, i have driven 2500 miles in 6 weeks. That’s a lot of gas $!!!school is going well in most regards... i had a very good review for my surveyor station project (测量站设计方案)... so i was happy.... last week i had the flu mon-weds (星期一至星期三), then had allnighters weds thurs (星期三至星期四干通宵)for this project... Perry Kulper is definitely the best teacher i have. he's teaching us Drawing 1, and you would be happy, but he said we should have a look at drawings by Marco Frascari and David Leatherbarrow! (宾州大学教授,这学生在那儿念本科时上过他们的课,Frascari现在于Virginia Tech任教) i wonder if i would have been better off with marco?(SCI-Arc学校大楼还没启用,学生暂在营中上课,所以这孩子不满) the tent they have erected is getting frustrating... it has no ventilation to speak of, gets hot during the day, cold at night and seems to always smell. quite odd smell in fact. kind of like a new tire(i am worried that when it rains, its going to be terrible, because the grading (铺地起伏) doesn’t look like it was done correctly and we may get all the water running through the tent too!) the acoustics are trouble, because you can’t hear you...
